Sir Malcolm Rifkind shares his thoughts on the last leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, who has died in Moscow at the age of 91.

Sir Malcolm, who served as Europe minister in Margaret Thatcher’s cabinet, spoke of the relationship of trust that Mr Gorbachev formed with the former British prime minister - “the crucial ingredient that Gorbachev brought to the international scene.” Report by Jonesia.
