The Norwell Lady Knights were just a few points shy of winning a regional championship last season, and with a wealth of talent and experience returning, they feel like they're ready to take the next step this year.

From the gridiron to the hardwood..believe it or not, high school basketball starts this week here in the hoosier state..several of our local girls teams will tip off their seasons in the days to come, and that includes the norwell knights...as always, expectations are high for eric thornton's team..the knights are coming off of a 22-win season, which included a regional championship game appearance in class 3-a...most of that teams returns, including all-conference performers maiah shelton, kaylee fuelling and lauren bales..with that kind of talent and experience on the floor, the knights feel like they can contend for a state title..
The knights will host oak hill in their season opener
Both Norwell and Bellmont represented NE8 girls basketball well by picking up key early-season wins on Tuesday night.
