McCutcheon Volleyball Prepares For Semi-State Battle With Munster

Lot of question marks..

Sara sutter lost a transcendent senior class including division i players in emily brown and brooke humphrey..

Sutter's roster features 5 underclassmen..

And the mavericks experienced a quarantine near the beginning of the season because of covid-19..

They didn't even know if they'd get to finish the season..

Since then ..

Mccutcheon has won a regional championship after beating an undefeated hamilton southeastern team..

The mavs are one game away from adding more to the school's history books..

Sara sutter's lady mavericks preparing for a semi-state matchup, with a relly talented munster team in what's the next chapter in a wild ride here in 2020.

We overcame everything that people didn't think we would.

We had quarantine, we missed out on a couple of weeks of playing, we were the underdogs and no one thought we would and we proved them wrong and that was just such a great feeling.

We are not done yet, we haven't reached our peak.

You know a lot of teams would think oh you just beat the number one team haven't you just reached your peak, but these girls are like no, we haven't.

If we just come out an serve well, and pass well and then we will be fine, and have the grit that we did against hse and learn from our mistakes because we lost to munster in four and we also lost to hse earlier this season in four so we can come bk and beat them this year hopefully.

I think it will be so awesome especially this year we haven't had a lot of fans so having the support of the community behind us will be such a fun experience and hopefully we can take it home.

Being told no, being, you know, things taken away from them they got to do this, and they got to do it with each other and grow as a team and that's more than anything that you can ask as a coach.

In case you were wondering, when was the last time the mavs have made a state title volleyball match?

1989 state runner-up 31 years since mccutcheon has been to the final game of the season.

And the best part for mccutcheon fans the game has been moved from frankfort's case arena to lafayette jeff's crawley center, so right down the road.

4 pm saturday, against a really talented munster team.
