Bear Fire victims can go to The Local Assistance Center in Oroville to get help with some of their needs.

Action News Now spoke to one evacuee about how she's able to get help.

Face big challenges tonight.

Action news now reporter amy lanski went to the local assistant center in oroville to see how victims are doing.

Amy ll: "i am at the local assitance center in oroville where bear fire victims are out here trying to get help.

I spoke to one woman who is from clipper mills so she didn't lose her home, but she is still out here trying to get help."

Bette mcmeley: "we are staying in a motel room and it's costing a fortune a day and we are eating out which we are getting sick of."

Mcmeley and her son came to the center earlier in the week, and got a little help, but are hoping for more.

"we already talked to red cross and fema also and we registered with them."

Mcmeley's son came to town to help his mom figure out what to do..

He said the local assistance center is a good place to start..

John fox: "they give you information and packets and stuff on what's available and what you can qualify for, but like i said you need the fema number before you do anything, so i recommend people do that first."

Amy: "coming up at five i spoke to one man who lost everything.
