Kristian why the delay?

The school district wanted to give parents and students more time to prepare for distance learning.

School was originally supposed to start*thi* monday.

But the orland unified school district pushed it to the end of august.

Glenn county is on the watchlist and in person classes are not allowed.

One parent tells me he thinks it was a good idea to delay the start date but thinks online learning will be a challenge for some.

: for me since i have two high schoolers, it not that big of a deal for me because i think they will be able to handle school online a lot easier.

My concern would be its going to be hard for kids at mill street who are in kindergarten all the way to middle school i think it will be a lot tougher.

Students will get to know their teachers through introductory virtual meetings through google classroom and daily live lessons.

The districts website also says all of the materials needed will be supplied to students a week before school starts.

School officials say they have a plan to provide internet to those without access.
