Mizoram: 3,000 police personnel, over 5,000 central forces to be deployed for assembly polls

Around 3,000 police personnel and 450 sections of central armed police forces (CAPFs) will be deployed for the November 7 Mizoram assembly polls. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Mizoram, Madhup Vyas, stated that efforts are being made to ensure a smooth and fair election. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel have already reached Mizoram. The CEO office has received pleas to change the counting date as it falls on a Sunday, but there has been no response from the Election Commission yet.
