Lionel Messi wins record-extending eighth Ballon d'Or

At a star-studded event in Paris, Messi was awarded a record eighth Ballon d’Or after winning the World Cup with Argentina. Aitana Bonmati won the women's award after starring for Spain at the recent World Cup.
