Sensex surges 350 points as financial, IT stock lead; Nifty above 11,000

Equity indices started on a higher note with the benchmark BSE sensex rising more than 350 points to trade above the 37,000-mark led by gains in financial and IT stocks. The broader NSE Nifty index traded above the 11,000-levels.
