‘Common sense minister’ says no mention of lanyard ban

Esther McVey, the prime minister’s so-called ‘common sense minister’ tells Channel 4 News she never mentioned a ban on lanyards when she made a speech at the start of the week.

On Monday, the cabinet office minister said civil servants should leave their political views “at the building entrance” and not wear rainbow-coloured lanyards.
