Sheep return to Hampstead Heath in conservation experiment

A herd of sheep are making themselves at home on London’s Hampstead Heath for the first time in decades, as part of a week-long biodiversity experiment.

Conservationists hope the animals will chomp on the weeds clogging up nearby anthills to allow other wildlife further up the food chain, such as the green woodpecker, to thrive in the area.
