Minister defends handling of school concrete safety scare

Schools were told of safety concerns relating to the collapse risk of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) at the “earliest possible moment”, according to Minister Nick Gibb.

Defending the government’s handling of the last minute building closures, he said: “We know more about the school estate and the existent of RAAC than any other country in the world.” Report by Buseld.
