Trade unions are meeting with government officials on Friday in a bid to avert planned teacher strikes.

Union officials look to discuss the 2022 pay awards whilst the government insist on focusing on 2023.

NAHT General Secretary Paul Whiteman says "if we don't talk about pay today, the conversation will be a short one".
