William ‘Rick’ Singer is the architect of the largest US college admissions fraud scheme ever uncovered.
On Wednesday, he was sentenced to 3 and a half years in prison.
The former college admissions consultant is jailed for helping wealthy parents secure the admission of their children to elite universities through cheating and bribery.
The sentence imposed on 62-year-old Singer by US District Judge Rya Zobel in Boston marked the longest issued to any of the dozens of people charged in the sprawling ‘Operation Varsity Blues’ investigation.
