After former President Pedro Castillo was impeached and arrested earlier this month, deadly protests have crippled the nation’s infrastructure.

Hundreds of tourists, including many Americans, are now stranded in Machu Picchu with trains halted and nearby roads blocked.

Tonight, Peruvian authorities say they’re helping tourists get out, with humanitarian flights expected to begin Sunday.
