Lockdown around world’s largest iPhone factory in China fans production worries

Chinese authorities locked down areas around the world’s largest iPhone factory in the central province of Henan on November 2, 2022.

The order was issued after an exodus of workers who fled the campus, many on foot, over concerns about a Covid-19 outbreak at the facility.

Apple has been trying to diversify production of its flagship smartphones, including finding manufacturing plants outside China.

Industry experts say such relocation could take years.
