Heroin is one of the world's most addictive and destructive drugs and despite attempts to crack down on its supply routes into Europe, the illegal trafficking continued.

Tribesmen in Pakistan and Afghanistan refused to stop farming opium poppies, used to make heroin, as they argued they had no alternative to make a living for their families.
