RJD leader Tejaswhi Yadav on February 27 announced that his party will contest the upcoming assembly elections in Assam, and also hinted at joining the Congress-AIUDF alliance.
"Our party used to be a national party and we want to expand now.
Assam is the gateway of NorthEast.
We have decided to contest Assembly polls in Assam.
We've discussed with Congress about alliance and will also be speaking to Ajmal sahab (AIUDF)," he said.
