Anupria Goenka: Web is far more talent hungry and it's not just based on stardom

Bollywood actor Anupria Goenka speaks to HT City Entertainment Editor, Monika Rawal, about her stint on the erb vis-a-vis films. With three web series that released last year - Asur, Aashram and Criminal Justice season 2 - Anupria had a great 2020 and she says, "It's easier to get meatier parts on the web because there's so much content being made and makers are always looking out for actors." Having starred in big banner films such as Tiger Zinda Hai, Padmavat and War, Anupria is thankful that she got to collaborate with some of the best actors in the industry and she insists she never felt that her smaller parts in films is anyway lesser than what she is doing in the web space.

The actor also shares her views on the debate around web censorship, the kind of roles she wants to do and stories she wants to be a part of and how she continues to expand and explore.

About the biases in the film industry, be it insider outsider debate or stereotypical casting, Anupria hopes that things change and everyone is given a chance to show what they're capable of doing.

"I want to run a project on my shoulder or do a film where I am leading the narrative.

I think I'm prepared for that," she says.
