Nurses gathered outside St.

Elizabeth Medical Center Thursday to push MVHS to address staffing issues throughout the hospital system.

This morning, saying there arenr safe, quality patient care at the hospital.

They and the hospital are in agreement about one thing: the nursing shortage existed before the pandemic.

But the pandemic has certainly made it worse.

The nurses say that it's time: no more meetings.

Something has to be done.

8:20 "a year ago we talked about the shortage.

We need more nurses.

They need to be competitive in the workforce.

And they need to think out of the box and we've got to do it now.

We can't wait.

We can't have another meeting to have another meeting.

It's gotta get done" mvhs says they're bringing in traveling nurses and reaching out to past employees and applicants and bringing in nursing students during winter breaks.
