Once again this ongoing pandemic is to blame.

Over 200,000 lights light up the zollman zoo each year as part of it's zoodazzle fundraiser.

The event which is run by friends of oxbow(boe), attracts as many as eight?

"* thousand visitors.

But during this year's holiday season, there are no lights ready to shine as the fundraiser has been cancelled zoodazzle as it was could not happen and we were afraid that we would attract too many people in a small area.

And it just would have been too much of a risk and didn't think it was worth it.

Although cold and snow have sometimes thinned the crowd over the years, this marks the first time the funraiser has been cancelled.

Friends of oxbow considered doing something different, but in the end an alternative fundraiser just wasn't possible.

The county, county's rules wouldn't have allowed more than 250 people in a certain area.

And we felt that our past events have attracted so many people, that we would have been over that limit.

And we didn't want to put anyone at risk for covid, the staff, the public, anyone.

Zoodazzle might be canceled but, the zoo does have some fun things planned for 2021.

The zoo will be getting a new nature center soon.

Construction is slated to begin in the spring.
