Public schools "my kids were funny, they were so excited, they were like it's a snow day, snow.

Then, they said, 'wait a minute, do we still have school?'

I was like yes we are all learning virtually."

With the majority of schools in kentucky and indiana learning remotely, snow days may be a thing of the past.

John wright/hardin county schools "really, there's not going to be a snow day for this school year unless there is something catastrophic like ice that stays on the power lines and knocks out power or something like that."

Some support services at districts like meal services- may be impacted by the weather, but for many instruction will continue.

That's the case in hardin county, bullitt county and new albany-floyd county schools.

And if classes do end up back in person, nti will be used instead of canceling school altogether.

J-c-p-s says it too sees evidence that's a solution moving forward after already distributing more than 60 thousand laptops and wifi hotspots.

Public schools "during this time, if there's inclement weather, we can continue instruction.

We have a system in place now with virtual learning, our students are learning remotely, so there will not be any interruptions."

If in-person, students at greater clark county schools and oldham county will have traditional snow days.

But if out for a prolonged period of time- oldham schools may institute remote learning.

Some even say the success of n-t-i, while not ideal, may threaten the existence of snow days in the coming years.

John wright/hardin county schools "the future of a snow day is certainly in jeopardy i would think because this nti deal is working.

For the short term, we would strongly consider continuing on this road of nti when things return to normal and hopefully that's very very soon."
