The Locker Room: Starfires Steamroll Their Way to First Semi-State Title

For the first time in program history, South Adams football is headed to the state finals.

Yeah, and of course we talked during our first show of the season about who had the best chance of playing football on thanksgiving weekend down in indianapolis..

I think we all agreed south adams had the best show..

And now here they are tonight with a chance to clinch that trip to lucas oil..

Yeah, the starfires playing in semi-state for just the third time in program history tonight..

A win would get them to the state finals for the first time ever..

But to get it, they've got to go through the defending state champs in class 1-a...lcc moving the ball well tonight, but 3 struggled with points, but they strike first with a field goal to make things 3-0.south adams, they're trying to get something going in response, but james arnold throws an interception.

His first of the night, but south adams wouldn't struggle any more from there.

Summerset, he runs up the middle, fighting 3 off some tackles he makes his way into the endzone.it's not 14-3 starfires.in the second half, south adams would start to rollarnold finds trey schoch down the field, he's able to turn and miss his man, and takes it to the house arnold is able to connect with braden bixler on the next play for some big yards down field.that sets up a nick miller touchdown from close as he pounds the ball in.south adams, they weren't done there.

Arnold finds schoch out of the backfield, he makes a few dudes miss and he takes it to the house.

South adams, they're headed to state final score.hear from the team after the game about the slow start and how much this win means for the south adams community we knew last week that we were going to struggle, but not struggle, but it was going to be a slow start.

They're a good team, we just had to come back and fight the adversity of not scoring right away like we usually do.

So, just knowing that we're prepared to come out here and score points.

I am so excited, this means so much to our community, more than what i think we realized.

I can't go five minutes in the hallway at school without a teacher stopping me telling me how excited they are for the game.

In the community everywhere you go , they're signs up, windows painted and things like that.

It just means so much to our community and i'm so glad we could do it for them.even before this game, you drive down the road, you see signs on the businesses, go starfires, you see signs everywhere.

The amount of text messages i get from people, just for support for these guys and they're great kids from great families, what they do is so incredible.
