Most stores in Chico aren't seeing empty shelves yet, but some people fear it could happen eventually.

What are we seeing our our area?

It seems, so far..

So good here at home... but some people told action news now reporter dani masten it's like éà vu all over again when it comes to toilet paper trauma.

Scott peterson/lives in chico "a little bit..

The fact that it could be as bad as it was when we first started, at least crosses my mind."

Dani i checked stores like winco and costco and while they are limiting the amount of toilet paper you can buy&their shelves were still stocked with toilet paper and paper towels.

Dr. joel minden, a local psychologist tells action news now it's not abnormal to see people stockpiling supplies in uncertain situations.

Joel minden/clinical psychologist "ya know when people start to hoard and they stock up on resources, that is driven by anxiety and it is an unrealistic concern about the ability to have those resources."

I asked minden why toilet paper?

Joel minden "that is a tough question to answer.

I know thar came up quite a bit earlier in the pandemic.

I don't know if it was because they were going to have a shortage or people just thought this was sort of a resource that i am going to need to use and my family will need to use for a long period of time and thought i don't know if i am going to have access to this."

Minden says overall..people just want to control the uncontrolable.
