Misleading -- not helpful and counterproducti ve -- that's what governor holcomb called supposed rumors about the next steps he will take in addressing the spread of the virus.

He says as of late -- he's noticed unfounded reports that he plans to once again shut down the state -- and that all schools will be moving to online learning -- both claims he says are completely false-- this misinformation -- he says -- is negatively -- affecting people's daily lives and the decisions they make.

But one truth he hits on -- the rise in cases across the state -- and he says he and his team are taking a quote -- surgical -- approach in combating the virus in the hardest hit communities -- "our resources, our personnel are working with our local health districts, local health offices, working with local communities to make sure we're not just talking about the importance of this but also help educate and helping locals with ways to enforce."

The governor says by taking this focused approach -- the state remains able to maintain its surge capacity.

He says 400 national guardsmen have already been sent out to assist at long term care facilities -- who need the most critical help right now -- with 900 left to be deployed.

Valerie while the governor has no plans to tighten restrictions any time soon -- indiana state health director doctor kristina box pointed out the more than 200 percent increase in cases from mid september to the end of october.
