HS B SOC: Memorial Seeking Repeat State Championship

Bill vieth has had quite the run as the memorial boys head soccer coach.

Since the first boys soccer state championship was played in 1994..

The tigers head man in charge has had two repeat state champions.... and is seeking a third this friday.

The tigers tell andrew garcia they would love nothing more than to give their coach another championship.

For the second consecutive season, the memorial boys soccer team is heading to state.

The tigers defeated guerin catholic 4-3 in overtime to advance.

It felt awesome and it was a great feeling, hard team, great game.

It was great morale for the team.

It was a great feeling, all the guys were happy and we are very happy to go back to state again.

Which is our second year with the same team so, it's a lot of hard work that we put into this so, we were very happy.

Head coach bill vieth repeated with the tigers in 2017 and 2018 and the current tigers would love nothing more than to accomplish that feat once more for their coach.

The love and respect for our coach is unreal so, showing how much we've overcome to get here is just going to mean a lot for us.

Fulkerson- it would feel great, he's a great coach and playing for him is just awesome so, i'd love to do it for him.

It was our goal from the beginning of the year to get back to the state championship and repeat.

It's really hard to do.

I'm proud of them that we got this far but you could see even today in practice there's a real focus on that this job is not done and we want to get that championship.

Standing in the way of memorial's dreams of a repeat is ft.

Wayne canterbury, a program its own history of dominance, and memorial is looking to spoil the cavaliers first appearance in a 2a state title game.

Baer- being in their first 2a title game doesn't really phase us.

We're going to come out and bring everything.

We know that they are a really solid team, so we've got a lot to expect from them.

Jean- we come to practice everyday focused and we're ready for this and we know how it is especially in those games we can't really say if the other team is good or bad because if you make it to state it means that you are ready for this and we should be to.

So we're focused and ready to go win this game.
