City of Oneonta taking steps to fill vacancy

The City Manager position has been vacant since February.

Last week the council deciding to change the title of the position to that of a city administrator.

New tonight-- the oneonta common council met earlier this evening to hash out a job description for a new city administrator.

Council members discussed residency requirements, the input a city administrator would have on making a city budget, and their ability to hire and fire personnel.

All changes to the job description have to be finalized in the city charter.

The council will meet again on october 29 to review a draft of the changes made to the city charter regarding the city administrator position.
