Getting residents the help they need

40s winds: light & variable the city of kasson is introducing a new program to help residents keep up with their mental health during the pandemic.

"* nineteen has affected most kasson residents in one way or another... and that's the reason they're introducing a new set of mental health resources.

Officials are calling this the city of kasson mental health initiative.

The initiative includes free one?

"*on?

"*one couseling for any kasson resident, provided through the local fernbrook family center.

City administrator tim ibisch says young people... older folks... and so many in between have struggled because of coronavirus.

"really our goal is to try and take that stigma away from folks who might be feeling down right now, and we know that it's been a rough year.

It's been kind of a grind.

And the council just wants to try and help people be more confident about things."

And in addition to counseling... the city has created a webpage where residents can find mental health training resources and hotline numbers.
