A letter making the rounds on social media, supposedly from Gov.

Tate Reeves, is not real.

There's a letter you may have seen on social media concerning mississippi and the coronavirus.

And it looks like the real deal.

But is it?

Let's go live to w-t-v-a's bronson woodruff with a look at that letter.

I'm here in downtown tupelo where i asked random people what they thought about this letter.

."

"it does, it looks legit."

The mississippi emergency management agency posted a facebook message addressing a circulating social media post.

The post claims all of the state orders concerning the coronarivus including mask mandates are now lifted.

But the state said it's a fake.

"that's sad.

It really is sad, because we're looking at a lot of, you know, false stuff that's put out all the time, so i guess we just research it's the best thing to do if you see something like that."

Standup: "the letter looks quite official.

It's got governor reeves's picture at the top with an email address out to the side, and it says "official notice" in all caps.

At the bottom, it's even signed "tate reeves"".

"but no, i am surprised because it, i mean you know, it looks like his signature."

Kathy evans of tupelo noted it was missing a letterhead, but said it still looked convincing.

The letter does, however, have a few grammatical errors.

"if i saw this, and it's got "official notice", i would probably think it's legitimate."

But for now, those orders including wearing your mask are still in place.

If that changes, we'll let you know.
