As summer break ends and the Coronavirus still here, Bibb County School District has begun virtual learning today.

Our top story tonight at 6: more middle georgia students ... started a new school year today.

And in bibb county ... students started the new year... learning virtually from home.

41 nbc's rashaad vann has more on what families can expect this year.

As summer break ends with the pandemic continuing, bibb county school district started virtual learning today.

School administrators provided teachers and students with at-home learning equipment.

Dr. pooler: i got a chance to speak with school officials on what students can expect this year.

Dr. pooler: simmons: rutland high school principal dr. wendy pooler says the new technology helps make virtual instruction easier for teachers to navigate through courses.

Pooler: we were able to use the month of august to learn a new management system, so we were proactive in that respect because our teachers were able to practice, and we're daily practice for teachers.

Wifi buses are available across bibb county to help children with internet connectivity while in class.

Simmons: students can complete assignments, conduct research, and search the internet for learning purposes.

Simmons: school officials say they're aiming to make virtual learning comfortable, and to make students feel as if classes are c1 3 b13 happening face to face.
