Choctaw Central traveled to Nanih Waiya for the warrior battle.

Nanih Waiya gets the win at home with a 29 to 13 victory.

Amidst the pandemic, you'd think senior antwan carter was talking about the coronavirus, but he's talking about his new coach, perry liles.

Coach liles was hired in december.

He retired from calhoun city in 2018, came out of retirement to be offensive coordinator for biggersville in 2019, now he's back as head coach of the ripley tigers.

He brings a winning pedigry to the sideline, when he retired from calhoun city he won 115 games in 10 seasons.

Now he's starting from scratch, a situation he's not unfamiliar with.

(liles) we're just trying to improve the little things and in the long run, you get the process better then you're going to win games but you know we wanna win every game we play of course but we're realistic in the fact that it's not going to easy and we just gotta work hard each week to get better (track) liles said that this team is loaded with seniors, seniors like antwan carter and carter is buying in.

(carter) i love everything he doin, him and the new coaches and all of the new coaches we're real confident (track) with the new run early and often offense, coach liles turned to senior centavius hunt.

Before this season, hunt played wide receiver.

Now he has the keys to the ridley offense.

(centavius hunt) it's been different
