Around two dozen protesting against child trafficking tonight outide the allen county courthouse.

The protest is one of many save the children rallies across the country... some of which have been accused of being connected to wide ranging conspiracy group q-anon.

Fox 55's mallory beard tells us why this group says it's different.

Katie flora says thsi is why her six and seven year old daughters aren't allowed to have sleepovers yet.she says she just won't risk losing them.katie flora//event organizer"we just don't know.

Unless we know the family extremely well or they're family.

That is something i feel very strongly about."

Flora organized the save our children march at the allen county courthouse to protest child trafficking.she and co- organizer, shannon molter say the march isn't politically charged ... nor is it tied to q-anon conspiracy theories that have sparked similar marches across the country.

Shannon molter //event organizer"we just wanted to bring awareness to the fact that sex trafficking happens not only in america but in fort wayne."shannon molter says the fort wayne area needs modernized safety regulations for children..shannon molter//event organizer"maybe even implement programs in schools.

Maybe change some laws so we have more restrictions on child pornography."flora says within her four years of working with special education students, she hasn't been trained to address problems related to child trafficking.she says staff must step up to the plate./must be equipped to do their part.katie flora//event organizer"to identify those situations, to know what to look for, have a number to call, and how to report those issues."she says students become confused or scared to speak up if someone isn't present to help them.katie flora//event organizer"if it's in the family it's not gonna be reported.

A lot of these kids are groomed to think it's normal and it's not."ben ritter//fort wayne resident/march participantben ritter joined in the march today.

He says the q-anon conspiracies are distracting anti-child trafficking organizations from their focus.

The children."they're complaining because they're getting swarmed with calls about q-anon stuff that has nothing to do with them and it's making their jobs way harder."ben ritter//march participanthe urges people to seek factual information when it comes to sensitive matters like children being abducted and used against their will.

March organizers plan to work with the fort wayne police department and the court appointed special advocates organization for plans on how better protect children from being exposed
