Over 10 years since a tragic car crash in west eugene left 2 adults and 2 children dead now a memorial stands at the intersection where it all happened.

Thank you for joining us, i'm chynna greene.

New tonight at 11-- kezi nine news reporter conor mccarthy went to the dedication ceremeony earlier this evening and shows the spot that shook the eugene community.

Janurary 21st... 2009... a day that rocked three families and the eugene community.

A drunk driver hit and killed a car carrying heather mulgrave... connie vermilyea.... jo siah vermilyea... and nima gibba.

Today.... a permenant memorial stands for the four.

Alex: "it's also very fresh that's the one thing about working on this project which it did stir up some emotion.

Nima gibba's parents say every inch of this memorial is designed with meaning.

Alex: "we're very proud to have it done and at least have the corner honored our loved ones in a beautiful way."

With a pathway lined with rocks leaing up to an infinity circle... and behind that a plack with the names of those who passed.

What sticks out is the sillouetes of four balarina dancers... a symbol for the their love of the arts and the dance practice they were driving home.

The only survivor-- jakobi mulgrave-- says it has been hard over the years but he is looking to the future.

Jakobi: "i feel like i carry a lot of weight on my back in regards with what i do with my life.

That's why i live in los angeles.

I'm trying to build a better futrure not only for myself but for my family down the road.

I want to honor and owe a debt for everyone who passed away."

The memorial was dedicated on what would be nima gibba's 23rd birthday.

A day of love and support.

"i feel like i am in a real community now, that we are not isolated because of our pain.

We actually are accepted and have been supported and loved to make this happen.

It's everything."
