Mt. Markham school district says full remote learning is not an option.

To start the school year with full remote learning, the mount markham school district says that option is just not viable.

Instead they will go with a combination of in-person and hybrid learning.

Students in grades k through 8 will have the opportunity for daily in-person instruction.

While high school students in grades 9-12 will engage in a blended learning model with in- person instruction and remote or online learning on alternate days.

So why not go with a full remote learning plan like other districts?

"there are pre-packaged programs that you can choose from.

There are some that cost money, but there's a lot that are free.

So perhaps instead of the school district paying perhaps 11 thousand dollars for a program, the parents can find the same thing and have more options to go under the tag of home schooler."

There were also concerns expressed that there might not be enough bandwith to handle all the streaming that would occur if the district had decided to go with a remote learning platform.

Of course you can find all the information on your schools reopening plan by going to the top of our web page and clicking on the school reopening plans tab in the blue coronavirus update section.
