Teachers test positive for coronavirus.

Students sent home for two weeks as a precaution

Lafayette county school superintendent adam pugh says he was notified some fourth grade teachers tested positive for the coronavirus.

He says through contact tracing they learned the teachers had been in contact with all but two of the other fourth grade teachers.

Lafayette county superintendent adam pugh says the entire lafayette county elementary fourth grade class will be taking classes at home.

Pugh says the district is doing its best to keep the students up on their school work.

He also says the teachers who tested positive for the coronavirus are doing well.

"they feel bad that they have contracted the virus but they want to be at work .but for safety we are quarantining them and the students."

Superintendent pugh says the virtual classes will continue for the time being.

He says that the lafayette county school district checks everyone's temperature each day before they enter the building.

He says he is asking parents to check at home too.

He says the district is doing its best to continue educating the students despite the coronavirus.
