Defensive lineman going to Horizon High School
Tough spot.
Entering his critical junior year - one proctor football player has made a difficult decision he felt gave him the best opportunity to continue his pursuit of a college career.
Daniel santiago - is transferring to horizon high school in scottsdale - arizona this academic year where he will live with his uncle...a former proctor football player as well.
A lineman for the raiders since eighth grade - he helped the team to its best season in program history last fall - making it to the section final for the first time ever - and earning an at- large bid into the regional round of the state tournament.
Personally - he ended the season with 40 tackles - 15 of them for a loss - and had two sacks.
That earned him all- league - all-section - all-central new york and all-state selection as a sophomore.
In april - santiago and his father set up a gym in his garage so he could train during the pandemic and since then he has lost 33 pounds while packing on muscle.
With the fall season here in question - he felt as though the move would give him the best exposure to pursue his dream - both athletically and academically...and called it a "temporary change in plans."
He leaves on august 27 for arizona - we will hear about the move in his own words tonight at 11.
The buffalo bills home field has a new title...at least for now -
