We begin with the latest on coronavirus in the bluegrass -- the governor reporting more 'children' testing positive... despite many younger people 'not' being tested.

The national and local trend... is the reason governor beshear says he's pushing for schools to hold off in- person classes until late september.

12 more children between the ages of 5 and 18...tested positive for the virus since wednesday.

Six in hardin county and six in warren county.

The governor says, in three weeks... 86... school-age children have tested positive for the virus in warren county.

So far--- a total of more than 4- thousand children 19 and under have tested positive.

According to the governor... seven additional child care centers have also confirmed at least one case of the virus.

Across the state, a total of 131 centers have at least one case, with 102 staff members and 87 children positive with covid-19.

"lets make sure the decision that we makes sets us up for actual success, and don't set us back as a state, and as i've said before, let's not experiment with the health of our children."

Governor beshear nationwide-- about 100-thousand kids tested positive for the virus just in the last couple of weeks of july.

Read under several area schools are adjusting their plans to adhere to the governors recommendation to hold off on in- person classes.

Last night---the madison and mercer county school boards announced new in-person starting dates.

Madison county schools pushed their start date to september 2nd...virtually.

The board says students will then get three options..for in- person or virtual instruction on september 28th..

Thats when the governor suggested students can return to the classroom.

In mercer county--- the harrodsburg herald says the school board voted to start online september 3rd..

Students can return in-person on the 28th.

#### and-- fayette county public schools will begin the year virtually online august 26th.

Families have two different virtual options to pick from.

If you would like your student to learn virtually..all year long..

You must sign up for the virtual learning academy by tuesday.

Students not enrolled..will use a distanced learning software.
