Derecho slams Chicago, massive trees snapped in half in Windy City due to destructive weather

A derecho with upward of 70 mile per hour winds destroyed parts of Chicago and Iowa on Monday as the storm stampeded its way across the Midwest, and more than 1 million people lost power across the states.

Do not start moving loose objects back outside until winds subside."
