High schools to the sec as a model of how to play football.

But if the conference cancells football this fall, not every high school coach wants to follow suit.

But tygard says he doesn't believe cancelling college football automatically ends the high school season.

I reached out to the alabama high school athletic association, asking if they plan to play, if college doesn't.

No one was available for comment.

Tygard says to his knowledge the ahsaa follows state orders.

"you know our state is going to how the governor goes and i know a lot of sec governors want to play."

And so do his players.

"yeah all of our players want to play, all of our coaches want to play, it's so obvious right here football in our town is such a big deal."

Tygard says cancelling high school football puts his players at risk for more than the virus.

The former vols defensive quality control coach said during quarantine a lot of his players missed meals and didn't always have a place to stay.

He says having players on campus lets his staff monitor the athletes in all aspects of life.

"we need to understand that's going to cause major repercussions with our football players and sports down the road."
