Young Indian inventor creates automatic hand sanitising machine from waste material

A young inventor from eastern India's Manipur region has created an automatic hand sanitiser dispenser from waste material.

Footage from June 27 shows the creation being used in the boy's workshop.

Multiple people put their hands within the device and the sanitizer is dispensed from above.

After users have sanitised their hands a dryer function is initiated.

The machine is made of cardboard, old batteries, shakers, syringes and torch lights, which have all been collected from the garbage.

Speaking in Manipuri we hear: "We are making an auto hand sanitiser and dispenser machine.

"It includes self dryer also.

"Insert hands, after you insert your hands, the sensor will recognise it and it will shower the sanitiser automatically.

"We are using only the trashes collected from neighbours.

"We are using four syringes, unused cooling fans, shakers from herbal life and some pipes.

"This machine will be very useful for big pharmacies and offices where one can sanitise their hands without touching anything.

"This will decrease community transmission also.

"We can easily refill the sanitizer by opening the lid of the shakers on the back of the machine.

"The level of the sanitizer contains is also easily indicated into five levels starting from 100 ml to 500 ml.

"The machine works with a battery and it is chargeable."
