Cree, the company building a manufacturing facility in Marcy, donated $3.5 million to SUNY Poly for a scholarship program.

To suny poly to support stem education programs at the campus.

The initiative will lead to the establishment of the "cree- wolfspeed scholarship" program for students at the school.

The program is meant to educate the next-generation of high-tech workers.

Cree is building the world's largest silicon carbide fabrication facility in marcy.

The commitment from cree includes a 2-million dollar scholarship program over 10 years..... and the creation of two endowed faculty chairs through a 1.5-million dollar fund over five years.... beginning in august.

The company also donated 25- thousand dollars to suny poly's stem programs last november.
