That's where the impeachement trial of then-governor rod blagojevich began.

Years later... "roger eddy"..

A key player in the impeachment... is sharing his story.

He just released a book..

About his experience with this moment in history.

And news 10's jordan kudisch spoke with him about all the details.

Shes live in our newsroom to share what she learned.

The book was written by someone who experienced an impeachment first hand.

And before that... there was only "1" other impeachment in the state's history.

I learned that the book was written for a few reasons.

One..

To explain how the general assembly and laws work.

And two..

To share facts and details about the trial.

That's something not many get to experience.

Eddy told me..

A book was something he didn't really consider..

But felt like he needed to share his story.

And i ended up in the front of an impeachment committee."
