For the eighth night in a row, protesters took to the streets to bring attention to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Of protesting in eugene, over 400 people marched from the federal courthouse to matthew knight arena... in honor of george floyd and in protest againt police brutality.

Thank you for joining us im chynna greene kezi 9 news reporter chris lueneburg was following the protesters all night long and is live with us now.

Chris, what did you see?

Chynna, these protesters were passionately chanting and speaking from the moment they arrived at the courthouse here-- and the energy didn't stop as they marched to matthew knight.

Chants and signs demanded an end to police brutality-- the list of demands included more transparent policing policies, demilitarization of police, and the immediate resignation of eugene police chief chris skinner.

Though these protests are going on 8 days, partipants tell us they are far from over.

"we are steeing familiar faces and we are starting to see new faces.

We are glad that noone is trying to stop the protests.// we still have a mission to go this is just the start.

I know there is a lot more eugene citizens taht can come out and support.

At one point a group of about 75 splintered off over a disagreement about how radically policing should change... but organizers say their message is still all about unity.

I did not see any instances of violence tonight-- despite last friday's riots, it seems that most of the protests this week ended up peaceful.
