Republican Politician Had COVID-19 For A Week Before Revealing To Collegaues

Pennsylvania State Rep.

Andrew Lewis revealed he has been infected with COVID-19 and kept it a secret for a week.

According to Business Insider, the Republican lawmaker learned that he had COVID-19 on May 20.

He waited until May 27 to reveal the news to his colleagues and the public.

"Out of respect for my family, and those who I may have exposed, I chose to keep my positive case private," he said in a statement.

While concealing his positive test results, Lewis publicly called for an end to Pennsylvania's shutdown.

Colleagues responded with outrage saying hiding his positive test results from co-workers and the public "is reprehensible".
