Mudslide hits southwestern China due to heavy rainstorm, injuring two

Two people were injured and two went missing after mudslide hit southwestern China on May 26.

The video, provided by local media with permission, shows the muddy water flooding the houses and roads in Gongshan Derung and Nu Autonomous County, while local residents were seen fleeing the site.

According to reports, days of heavy rain brought mudslides and landslides to the county, causing damage to roads, powerlines, communication devices and houses.

696 people were evacuated and 510 travellers were left stranded.

The disaster has already caused two people to be reported missing and two injured.
