But first -- newswatch 12's alcia rubin breaks down what phase two might look like and if jackson counties recent cases could impact approval for phase 2.

Jackson county says they haven't received any guidance from the oregon health authority or the governors office about requirements for entering phase 2 of reopening.

And with recent new cases, the county is concerned about if those cases could impact phase 2 approval.

The new cases didn't come as much of a surprise... john says: "we knew as we start relaxing our social distancing that this could happen what we don't know is how this is going to impact our phase 2 re-opening" according to oregon health authority, seeing an increase in cases or hospitalizations does not automatically trigger a change in a county's status -- oha says they're looking at a number of things to make a determination on whether or not a county can move on to phase 2.

Jackson county public health says they aren't concerned about recent new cases jeopardizing jackson county's chances to enter phase 2.

Tanya says: oregon health authority has definitely developed the metrics in a way that is meant to be fluid so they would definitely work with us oha says if there was an increase in cases or hospitalizations there would be a discussion between state and local public health to determine if there are additional resources needed and how to bring those resources to the table.

John says: we're anxiously awaiting for some current guidance but we've seen nothing yet if you remember, the guidelines for phase 1 weren't made available until about a week before applications were accepted so
