In this message from the frontline, Dr Shashvat Gupta describes his day treating patients in a Covid-19 ward at Yale New Haven hospital in Connecticut.
He recalls that he was shocked to see that one patient as young as 40 years old with no prior illness required to be put on ventilator for the infection which is largely believed to more severely affect the elderly with comorbidities.
