To the department of child services - the numbers of child abuse cases are down overall... but advocates say - that does not mean fewer children are being abused - with around 6000 reports coming in last month alone.... advocates say - that's likely only a fraction of the total number of cases - as calls to the state's child abuse and neglect hotline are down - by as much as forty percent....
