MVHS resumes elective surgeries

Mohawk Valley Health Systems has created a safety plan as they resume elective surgeries.

Cases continue to decline, the mohawk valley health system resumed elective surgeries and procedures at the saint elizabeth and saint luke's campuses with what's being called a "safe path to surgeries" plan.

M-v-h-s has created this plan to ensure outpatients' safety.

It includes: a private entrance for patients, all patients will be tested for coronavirus prior to surgery and includes a no- visitor policy.

Melany rookstool: we want to let people know that as they re-enter this process and we know that people have procedures that they need to have done they may be delaying they may be afraid to come back in however we are aware of that we know there's a need we want people to feel safe as they come back in.

The plan also uses staff who haven't also taken care of suspected or positive coronavirus patients.
