Walking in Faith during the pandemic
Walking in Faith during the pandemic

"We're asking that your hand would be greatly upon us Lord that you would be blessing the people.

Every house that we walk by".

Pandemic.

During these tough times?

Many of us are relying on faith for strength.

That was certainly the case in clear lake tonight.

Kimt news 3's nick kruszalnicki has the story of a faithful group taking prayer t?go.

Nick?

Yes george and katie?

Just hours ago it was a different scene behind me as i followed the group through the streets of clear lake here.

It was a quiet walk, with plenty of prayers said along the way?

Bringing blessings to everyone impacted by this pandemic.

"as we walk through these streets and we walk these neighborhoods , we're asking that your hand would be greatly upon us lord that you would be blessing the people.

Every house that we walk by."

While on foot, these faithful are spreading love throughout the neighborhood.

Asking for divine guidance during a time of confusion.

"i pray that through this time you can help them financially lord i pray for all the owners and the workers."

Cathy bancroft and her friend gretchen thought of the idea after their monthly prayer meetings were cancelled because of covi?19.

"so we threw out lots of ideas.

Could we sit in our cars in the parking lot could we just do it... however we just threw out lots of ideas and gretchen was like, 'maybe we should walk?'

And so we threw the idea out to pastor terry and he was like 'yeah, lets do a prayer walk.'" so far, six churches around north iowa are encouraging their members to do a prayer walk.

Bancroft hopes it will bring guidance to those who are feeling a little lost right now.

"it's just a really hard time, people are anxious and fearful and unemployed, there's lots of people who are unemployed right now, so there's just a lot of stress and fear."

And in this neighborhood folks are taking notice.

Humbled by this simple act of kindness.

This is the second time the group has done the prayer walk and bancroft tells me she hopes it spreads to other congregations .

Live in clear lake, nick kruszalnicki, kimt news 3.
