The drug remdesivir will be sent to hospitals who have a patient eligible for the treatment.

Rodneya -- do we know which hospitals in the area are getting the drug?

This morning it's not clear if any hospitals in north alabama will receive the drug -- but we do know at least one dose is being delivered to each hospital that has an eligible patient.

Hospitals are getting the drug because of a large donation from gilead sciences incorporated 607-thousand vials will be donated to states across the u-s over the next six weeks ... that should treat 78- thousand patients!

The medicine arrived in alabama yesterday is being distributed to hospitals overnight.

This morning at the news conference with city leaders we plan to ask the c-e-o of huntsville hospital -- david spillers -- if any of the hospitals in their system received the drug overnight.
